How where you introduced into refereeing?
I have been involved with football all my life and i ahve never really been a player though I tried. And after watching local league refereeing I said to myself I could do that. I really wanted to put something back into the game so I booked a course and I only wish I had done it 10 years ago
What has been the highlight of your career so far and why?
I have had two first was my biggest appointment 2 premier league sides Pelton ROAB V Kelloe WMC and i did very well getting excellent feedback from both camps Second was a game Hetton Social v Chilton Hetton are the most notorious side and nasty side in durham but my refereeing style paid off excellent man management only 1 caution all game that was very proud moment as i had done very well in the middle
What is the biggest game you have officiated and why?
As above really only local level side’s but to me good experience
What are your aims and ambitions as a referee?
My ambitions are to get a cup final in durham district league this season or next . also I wish to move as far up the ladder as possible I am determined to move up and next season is my promotion year. To make it to the football league is a dream for me
What/Who has been the biggest influence on your career and why?
My RDO Jeff Russell great bloke very supportive , My mentor Bob Skelton again very supportive and My Mate Robin Raymond his pure love for refereeing and his support is formidable
In your opinion who is / was the best referee?
Currently I like Mark clattenburg and Alan Wiley and the legend of that Italian referee with the big eyes legend
