Name:
Billy Khatib
What has been the highlight of your career so
far?
Being promoted to National List in April 2006.
What
is the best game you have officiated and
why?
Stockport County v MK Dons in April 2007. Stockport needed
a point to finish in top six, MK Dons needed a point to go
up that day. MK Dons won 3-2, and it was a fantastic game,
atmosphere and crowd.
What
are your aims as a National List Assistant
Referee?
To officiate in a Play-Off game and maintain a credible
position each year to stay on list, and maybe push for
Select Group status.
What
skills do you think you need to become an Assistant
Referee?
Fitness, knowledge of laws - particularly offside! You need
to keep a calm head and stay alert for 90 mins, especially
after long periods of inactiveness.
Who
has been the biggest influence in your career and
why?
No one in particular, as everyone has something to offer
and use in future games. You never stop learning.
In
your opinion who is/was the best Assistant
Referee?
I think all PGMOL Assistants are the best in the world in
terms of technique & fitness. The better ones at the
moment are of course the Select Group bunch.
